CSA Terms and Conditions - Winter

Minto Island Growers

2026 Winter CSA - Terms and Conditions

Purpose: The Minto Island Growers (“MIG”) Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a partnership between MIG and the CSA members (“members”), with both sharing some of the risks, as well as the bounty, of the farm. These Terms and Conditions outline our shared commitments. Farmigo, the CSA software that we use, requires CSA members to check a box saying that they have read and agree to our Terms and Conditions.

Shared Risk and Reward: Members support MIG by sharing the inherent risks of farming (weather conditions, pests/diseases, crop failure, etc.) and the rewards (fresh, local, organic produce, and a beautiful rural setting to enjoy). MIG uses approaches that protect the harvest, minimize risks, and optimize outcomes. MIG grows a wide variety of crops that thrive in different conditions. MIG uses cover cropping, crop rotation, protected high tunnels, etc. MIG’s goal is to provide members with a wide variety of produce in plentiful amounts. MIG will act in good faith to provide fresh organic produce throughout the season, but there is no guarantee of quantities or contents of shares. In the very unlikely event that a force majeure (e.g. severe weather, disease/pest damage, or other natural disaster) results in a level of crop destruction that prevents MIG from completing the season, members will be notified immediately, along with the remedy available.

Farmigo:

  • MIG uses an online software program called Farmigo for CSA registration and management

  • Farmigo requires an email login for members, who can make additional purchases, make payments, etc.

  • MIG does not share any personal information entered into Farmigo by members

  • MIG does not have access to the financial information that members enter, if they choose to pay by electronic check

Payments:

  • Members can make payments by:

    • Check (mail to Minto Island Growers, PO Box 1004, Salem, OR 97308; members must not mail checks to the MIG street address or leave checks at the Farm Stand)

    • Electronic check / ACH (via Farmigo, single payment or autopay for multiple payments)

    • SNAP food benefits (via an agreement with www.pnwcsa.org); assuming that federal funding remains in place)

  • Members are responsible to make on-time payments according to the payment plan they select:

    • Payment in Full or Payment 1 is due at sign-up (e-check) or within 30 days (check)

    • 2 Installments: Payment 2 is due December 1, 2026

    • 3 Installments: Payment 2 is due December 1, 2026; Payment 3 is due January 1, 2027

  • Members will receive an email reminder in the morning of each pick-up day, which includes the current balance due (if any) and future payments due (if any)

  • Members can review their account balance and upcoming payments due via their Farmigo account: https://csa.farmigo.com/account/mintoislandgrowers/2026winter

  • If a member has a past-due payment, MIG will send payment reminders; if payment is not forthcoming, MIG may cancel the member’s subscriptions for the remainder of the year, with no refund; MIG may make exceptions due to hardship

Cancellation and Refund Policy:

  • To cancel a share or add-on, the member must notify MIG in writing (to csa@mintogrowers.com) with at least two weeks’ notice

  • MIG will apply the following cancellation fees, to help cover administrative costs:

    • If a CSA share is canceled, MIG will refund the remainder of the season, minus a $25 cancellation fee

    • If an CSA add-on is canceled, MIG will refund the remainder of the season, minus a $10 cancellation fee

  • MIG may waive these cancellation fees due to hardship

  • MIG will mail refund checks to the member’s mailing address listed in Farmigo

Email Communications:

  • Members are responsible to ensure that emails sent by MIG are not caught by their spam or junk filters:

  • MIG will send a CSA Primer by email 1-2 weeks before the season starts

  • Members are responsible to read and follow the instructions in the CSA Primer and all other emails sent by MIG

Picking Up Shares and Add-Ons:

  • Pick-ups are at the Farm Stand and are not staffed

  • The pick-up window is Thursday from 3 to 8 PM

  • Members can pick up on Friday or over the weekend, but should note that:

    • The Farm Stand will be unstaffed

    • MIG does not guarantee shares or add-ons after Fridays at 5 pm

    • MIG does not take responsibility for impacts to shares or add-ons from sitting outside (under cover) in the weather

  • All shares are packed shares:

    • Members need to bring bags

    • MIG is not able to provide any substitutions for member allergies etc.

  • Members are responsible to know what add-ons, if any, to pick up each week:

    • Members will receive an email reminder in the morning of each pick-up day, which lists the member’s share and any add-ons for the day

    • MIG will provide a member check-off list at the pick-up site, which also lists the share and any add-ons for each member for the day

  • Members are responsible to check off their names at each pick-up

Delivery Holds, Make-Up Shares, and Vacation Vouchers:

  • There are no Delivery Holds, make-up shares, or Vacation Vouchers for the Winter season

  • If a member is not able to pick up their share, they can send a friend or family member (the CSA member needs to make sure the person picking up understands what to do)

Late or Missed Pick-Up Policy:

  • MIG requests that all members put all pick-up days in a personal calendar

  • MIG sends a pick-up reminder email the morning of each pick-up day

  • MIG does not provide any credit or replacement shares for missed pick-ups

Flexibility and Work-Arounds:

  • If a member has circumstances that are not in alignment with these Terms and Conditions, they can contact MIG at csa@mintogrowers.com to ask if there's flexibility or a work-around that would address the situation

  • If MIG experiences unusual circumstances, e.g. a severe weather event or crop failure, MIG may need to adjust pick-up schedules, pick-up locations, or share contents; MIG will communicate any changes to members and will strive to ensure that members receive the full value of their shares
