This will be our third year, and second full season, providing our community with the freshest, highest quality produce our farm has to offer. We pride ourselves in treating our CSA customers with the highest priority when the first peas, tomatoes, corn and other items are first ripe, they go straight into the boxes before going to market.
Most importantly we love getting to know our community members via the special relationship born over great food! Your support is vital to our success as new farmers and are truly thankful.
Basic Details
Our CSA runs for 25 weeks, from the first week in June, through the third week in November (the week before Thanksgiving). Every week a bin full of fresh, seasonal produce is dropped at your chosen site. You can either take the bin home, returning the empty bin the next week, or bring a bag to transfer the goods. The weekly newsletters are on a clipboard where you cross your name off a laminated list. The bins are placed in a shady spot and stay very fresh. You do not need to pick up your bin right when it’s dropped, but bins that remain the next day will be donated to the Food Bank or eaten by the lucky drop-site resident unless pick-up is coordinated.
In your box
Every week you will receive fruit, lettuce, alliums (onions, leeks or shallots) herbs and 3-8 additional vegetables, depending on the season. Some items, like tomatoes, appear in your box nearly every week once they are in abundance. Garlic and potatoes generally appear every other week once they are ready to harvest. Because we pick from the Miller family blueberry farm next door, most of the fruit is comprised of blueberries, but we are planting strawberries, raspberries and other fruits. In the meantime we support other local farmers by purchasing (and sometimes picking!) fresh fruit for the boxes. Please see the 2009 newsletters for week to week box contents.

How many does a share feed?
Every family eats differently, but in general our box is meant to feed a small family that likes to cook. However, we have subscribers of every size, from singles to families of five. Many couples choose to split their box to enjoy the benefits of the CSA, and then attend the farmers markets and/or eat from their own vegetable gardens. There are many many ways to enjoy the CSA box!

Farm Events
We hope to do two farm events this year, one in July, and one in October. Last year we had a wonderful bean shelling activity, farm tour and dinner for our one and only CSA event. It was fantastic. This year our CSA events will probably be potluck style and will include farm tours, maybe a pumpkin patch picking for kids, and possibly bean shelling again- it was big hit! If you have any ideas or activities you would like to do on the farm, let us know.
